2 Wilaygu Ngayinybula credit Sophia Bender 1280x550

Presented by The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach team

Join The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach team at the Bowery Theatre for a fun and creative holiday dance program. Students will explore the world of dance and create an original dance work to perform on the final day. The dance workshops include contemporary warm-ups, dance exercises and choreographic games. Elements such as costume design, music and storytelling through dance will be discussed.

Workshops:

- Are creative, choreographic and fun
- Do not require previous dance experience
- Support resilience, confidence and teamwork skills
- Support individual needs and skill levels

What to bring:

- A water bottle and healthy snacks
- Comfortable clothing
- Dance shoes or bare feet

Note

- Due to current restrictions, our venue capacity is limited. This means that if you are no longer able to attend it is important to let us know so that another student may take the place. To assist with this you will be contacted prior to the program to confirm your participation.

- All workshops will be run within the Covid guidelines at the time of the event, including additional cleaning, social distancing and masks if/when appropriate.

- Students only need to book for the 4 day workshop, which includes the performance on the final day. Additional audience members (parents/siblings/friends) will need to book a ticket for the performance date only.

About Wilaygu Ngayinybula // Possum’s two minds

Choreographed by Ella Havelka

Wilay has two minds. One is cheeky, fun and creative. The other is smart, serious and sharp. Both minds have their place but Wilay gets into trouble when cheeky mind decides to hibernate in the dry season. Without the balance of both minds, Wilay starts to feel unhappy and weighed down by serious mind. But Wilay need only remember that all seasons pass.
