Resonate Artist Q&A - Cool Out Sun

Call Out Sun Hi res 2

We're excited to present Cool Out Sun as part of as part of the Resonate - Bowery Music Series. We caught up with founder and frontman N’Fa Jones to chat about music, collabs and more!

1. Describe your music in three (3) words:
Loving, Cross-Cultural, Vibrant

2. What artist ‘resonate’ with you?

Everyone I work with in the Cool Out Sun family along with our local and international inspirations of serious practitioners ranging from J Dilla to Fela Kuti, Burning Spear to Tribe Called Quest, Nina Simone to Erykah Badu, Gurrumul to Ali Farka Touré and much more.

3. Which artists (dead or alive) would you love to collaborate with? What would you make?

Personally I would put J Dilla, Fela Kuti, Winston Rodney (Burning Spear) and Sensible J in a room and see what that turned into. Would be pretty awesome!

4. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Happy, as in even more happy. More music, more travel through music, more social development, more love - more money would be nice (haha).

5. What do you hope people to take away from your live show

Apart from good memories, some nice merch, sore knees and hips from the dancing… Positive energy, cos it activates constant elevation.
