Lavinia03

We're excited to present a very talented young singer-songwriter Lavinia Tosev as part of as part of the Resonate - Bowery Online Stage Series. Experience a local Brimbank high school student with a voice and writing talent beyond her years. She connects with her audience through original pop-rock-folk songs, accompanying herself on guitar or piano. We caught up with the Lavinia to chat about music, collabs and more!

Describe your music in one sentence:

My music is emotional, raw, deep/meaningful, soulful and folk.

What artists or people in your life have influenced your music?

I’d say that my style in music has been shaped by a number of artists, including: Imagine Dragons, Sia, Lana del Rey, Mumford of Sons and many more. These artists have influenced me in different ways - some regarding musical genre and style, and others regarding voice, lyrics and overall songwriting technique. I’m constantly listening to new music for inspiration; changing and improving my style to best reflect what I’m trying to depict in my music.

If you could collab with another artist / singer / producer, who would it be and why?

There is no one that completely sticks out to me, as I feel that every artist has something to offer and I would like to collaborate with as many people as I can in the future. However, I’d definitely want to work with an artist of the same genre as me - folk/rock/pop/indie.

Five artists you’re listening to right now:

Right now, my top five artists are: Imagine Dragons, Mumford and Sons, Dean Lewis, Tones and I and Lana Del Rey.

What’s on the cards for you for the rest of the year?

This year I am hoping to work further on myself as an artist, release new music that I’m proud of, as well as widening my audiences in order to get my music out to a larger group of people. I’m also most excited about performing live again!
