Curbside Carnies visit Koorie and Edmund Rice Homework Clubs
We are excited to have two experienced youth circus trainers Richard McKimm (Rich Ramblespin) and Anso Biguet, facilitating free circus workshops for young people.
Richard and Anso have been teaching specialised programs for a number of years and performing as solo artists. Term 1, 2023 will be an introductory term in a program which will continue throughout the year in shaping future circus stars at the Homework Clubs of Brimbank.
Featured in the Term 1, 2023 program will be a range of circus skills, including props like hula hoops, juggling and flower sticks, and partner/group acrobatics tied in with the beginning of performance skill. The aim of the program will be improved connections with peers, communication, teamwork, as well as resilience and self-efficacy. The remaining terms will fine-tune skills and ultimately lead to a public invitation showcase at the Bowery Theatre for family and friends, featuring the Homework Clubs, program facilitators and producer Sophie deLightful.
