Applications for a new young director, stage manager, lighting designer and social media publicist are now open!

Get ready for the all new youth-led (12 - 25 years) LGBTQIA+ play.

Ida the Hobit - The Play! is the story of Ida, a young hobbit on a fantastical journey to understand LGBTQIA+ communities. In this whimsical play, Ida must help her animal pals on their own journeys of self-discovery, as they each explore their LGBTQIA+ identities.

This theatre production is produced in an exciting collaboration between local young people; the Crystal Queer program run through Brimbank Youth Services; the Brimbank Youth Arts program from Creative Brimbank; the Brimbank FReeZA Committee; and the Duke Street Community House.

It will premiere at The Bowery Theatre on Friday, 11th April 2025.

Please note: all roles on this production are voluntary, however we are committed to valuing your time as young people and creatives.

Most production roles will only be required to attend up to x2 production meetings a month, either in person or on Zoom. The Director will be required at most (if not all) weekly rehearsals, unless the role is shared (x2 co-directors etc.)
