Join respected Elder and Bakandji artist Aunty Jeanie Mason, alongside Kirrae Whurrung Eastern Maar Nations artist Ella Clarke, and Gundjitmara art facilitator Jahneya Travis, with support from lead art facilitator Jo Mott, for a fun and informative session designing boomerangs at Kids Art Lab.
In celebration of NAIDOC Week’s 50 years of Deadly, this hands-on workshop invites participants to explore First Nations culturally significant symbols while creating their own boomerang designs. You’ll also learn about the traditional use and cultural importance of the boomerang within the Kulin nations.
A collage activity inspired by the 50 years of Deadly posters will also be held alongside the boomerang activity on the Yarning Matt.
