Casual hires are small meetings or training sessions that take place in a single community space.

Security Charges

If your booking starts or finishes outside of staffed hours, you are required to cover the cost of a security guard. See Conditions of Use for more information.

Important Information

Induction: You are required to complete an induction to the venue prior to your booking.

Shared Space: STACC is a community centre, and it is likely that other rooms will be booked by other groups during your booking. There is potential for noise bleed between different rooms.

After hours: There are no staff at STACC after hours and the front doors do not automatically open. If your booking is after hours, security will open the building and community space/s for you (additional costs apply - see security charges). You must provide a doorperson to open the doors for other guests as they arrive (doors must not be chocked open), or you can book front of house staff to assist at an additional cost. STACC is staffed Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, and Saturdays from 9am - 12pm.

Staffing: Front of house staff and technicians can be booked at an additional cost to assist with your activities if required.

Liquor: It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct liquor licenses for your booking, if required. A copy of your license must be provided.

Food: It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct food licenses for your booking, if required. A copy of your license must be provided. STACC does not have a catering service or food license.

Gaming/Gambling: Gambling is not permitted at any Council venue.

Conditions of use: When you submit your application, you are agreeing to the full conditions of use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we serve alcohol and food at our meeting?

Yes, if you have the correct licenses. See important information above. If you are planning a function or event, different rates and requirements apply – please submit a function hire application.

What time can we book STACC until?

Everyone must be out of the building by midnight on Friday and Saturday nights, and out by 11pm all other nights.

Can I book a one-off date at the casual rate?

If you only require a one-off booking, this will be considered a function or event in most cases. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Am I eligible for the community group rate?

To receive the discounted community groups rate, the organisation must be a registered Incorporated Association who are able to demonstrate the group is voluntary and receive minimal or no funding to run group activities or programs, with at least 50% of its members being Brimbank residents.

Do I need public liability insurance?

No. Public liability insurance is only required if you become a regular hirer.

Can STACC staff help to set-up and/or pack-down before and/or after the event?

If you require staff for your booking, you can request to book technicians or front of house staff at an additional cost – see important information above. If you do not book staff, there will be no STACC staff to assist.

Can we come earlier than our booking to set-up and/or stay later than our booking to pack-up?

No. Your booking must include set-up and pack-up time.

How do I book and pay for a casual hire at STACC?

  1. Click here to apply for room hire at STACC. Please note: You will need to create an account if you don't already have one. We will assess your request, determine security requirements, check availability and email you an invoice. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee your booking.
  2. Pay your invoice using one of the payment methods listed on the invoice or online via your IMS account. Please note payment needs to be made in full at least 10 business days prior to the meeting.
  3. Attend a site induction. This will confirm your booking as long as all other required paperwork and permits have been sent to us.
