Primary Artistic Discipline: Performing Arts
Born in Vietnam and raised in Australia, Tony Le Nguyen is a bilingual teaching artist, director, and cultural consultant with over 30 years of cross-continental experience across Australia and Asia. He first gained national and international recognition as an actor, notably for his breakout role as "Tiger" in the 1992 Australian feature film Romper Stomper. Tony’s creative practice centers on Community Cultural Development (CCD), using applied drama, physical theater, and storytelling as tools for social empowerment, youth mentorship, and cross-cultural dialogue. He founded Australian Vietnamese Youth Media and The Drama Lab, directing youth theater and musical productions. Recently, his practice has expanded into environmental advocacy, partnering with groups like GreenViet to merge performance art with biodiversity conservation.
