George Rose is an artist that is deeply inspired by the intersection of nature and community. Her work draws upon the local natural environment and features species such as the Golden Sun Moth, the Spiny Rice Flower, and the Small Scurf-pea as hero subjects among other flora in the mural.
Using indigenous species highlights the resilience and the rich biodiversity of the Brimbank area, the artist aims to celebrate these endangered species while fostering a deeper connection between the natural environment and the local community. This mural is a tribute to the intricate ecosystems that surround us, inviting viewers to reflect, connect, and protect.

About George Rose
George Rose, is a Melbourne-based female artist best known for large-scale murals vibrant use of colour and ‘sweet fades’. After an initial education in design, she completed her formal training at art school before pursuing muralism supported by a studio practice. Rose’s work explores the fragility of nature, frequently showcasing endangered indigenous flora and fauna, utilising each building as a canvas to transform the micro into a macro-scale. She adore’s using bright, surreal colours to create her signature gradients. Across her commercial art career she have completed commissions for a diverse range of local and international clients, from museums such as Musée Pierre-Noël de Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, France and SRAAT Museum, Amsterdam, to collaborating with social media giants Tiktok and Instagram to brands like Nike. When Rose is not working on commissions, she thrives on the mural festival circuit. You can find her work across the globe from Australia to the Americas, and across Asia and Europe. Recognized as one of Australia’s foremost muralists, accolades, include multiple awards at the Resene Total Colour Awards in 2020 and 2023, and ‘Best Mural’ at the Street Art Australia Prize in 2019.
