Artist: Katherine Gailer aka Katira
Year: 2024
Location: Princess Laneway (next to Woolworths) 315/321 Main Rd East, St Albans
This recent mural builds on Small Acts Make a Big Impact mural (located at the rear of Woolworths) narrative. It features vibrant colours and geometric composition, showcasing native flora coming to life and interacting with two women who embody cultural fusion and diversity.
The mural highlights the importance of balance between urban and natural environments; modernity and tradition; body and spirit. Arrows and bees symbolize the cyclical relationship between human actions and nature, emphasising the need to protect and foster growth. The mural aims to create a positive impact and will feature leaves and pollen flying along the connecting laneway wall, further integrating the natural theme.
