why we are, who we are

Having spent 2021 collaborating as part of the Dancehouse Emerging Choreographer’s program, Yuiko Masukawa and T.Shriraam were struck by the similarities in their dance practice.

Both have trained in highly codified practices of ballet and Bharatanatyam, however through a process of reflection both Yuiko and Shriraam sought to explore the complex realities of classism, migration, gender and body through dance making and performance.
