Resonate Artist Q&A - YARA

We're excited to present Palestinian Naarm based songstress YARA as part of as part of the Resonate - Bowery Music Series. We caught up with the singer to chat about music, collabs and more!

1. Describe your music in three (3) words:

Introspective, soulful and lush.

2. What artist ‘resonate’ with you?

Nina Simone, I love how she unapologetically and beautifully created works that mix both music and activism. Looking back at her a lot for growth at the moment.

3. Which artists (dead or alive) would you love to collaborate with? What would you make?

Dead, Amy winehouse. Alive, Nick Hakim. either make an r&b album or some melancholy ballads.

4. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Life is so unpredictable. but I hope to still be making and playing music, and staying true to myself.

5. What do you hope people take away from your live show?

Lots of things, I hope they have fun, relate to the things I'm singing about, open their minds about things they might not relate to. I just want to connect with people.
