We're excited have artist Rosina Yuan exhibiting and hosting a workshop for the Top-Up: Diversity Arts Professional Development Exhibition & Workshop Series by Curatorial Collective. Rosina gives us some insight into her practice and art:
1. Describe yourself in one sentenceAn VR-painting-installation artist who loves being outdoors.
2. What is your chosen medium(s) and why?I work primarily work with VR, painting and projection installation. For this residency I am working with drawing and digital painting to look at how to use different bodily gestures to explore natural landscapes.
3. What/who inspires you?I am particularly inspired by Agnes Martin, as I enjoy looking at her delicate gestures which evokes subtle sentiments. I am also inspired by New Zealand’s landscapes which influence my current artwork.
4. What do you want people to take away from your work?I want people to simply enjoy my manifestation of ‘land’, and stay curious of their own traces, as well as the environment around them.
