We're excited have artist Yiwon Park exhibiting and hosting a workshop for the Top-Up: Diversity Arts Professional Development Exhibition & Workshop Series by Curatorial Collective. Yiwon gives us some insight into her practice and art:
1. Describe yourself in one sentence
Korean Australian visual artist based in Melbourne.
2. What is your chosen medium(s) and why?
Inter-disciplinary including but not limited in drawing, sculpture, and animation.
What drives me is the story I like to show. It doesn’t limit in media. I like it when various medium talk to each other and create stories.
3. What/who inspires you?
Desire to understand the world around me, rituals to deal with feelings of insecurity, colours and other artists.
4. What do you want people to take away from your work?
My practice is a journey to find my home as Korean Australian artist. I like people to take part of it as 'a Stories of us' which works on collective subconscious.
